There were a lot of memorable moments, but I wanted to share one small favorite—the winners’ podium—designed by James Lee & Leo Obstbaum. The podium was constructed from donated wood and finished by new wood workers in the inner city of Vancouver. The design reflects the topography of Canada and the collective spirit of the games, as seen in the construction of multiple pieces coming together to create one form.
