Handpainted Globes

Yes! Score! I have been scouring thrift stores for over a year, looking for a globe. I do look for other things and generally enjoy digging in thrift stores. I did buy another awesome globe a year ago via Craigslist. That globe was even sweeter. It had a stand too. I painted that one already, soft pink and black. I promise to wrap up the gold lettering before the new year.

I found the globe at the Hopkins, Goodwill on my way home from a photoshoot at BlueOx. Look at their adorable salt and pepper shakers.

Over a year ago, I was inspired by 1canoe2 and their lovely painted globes.  Back in 2013 the only way to get your mitts on these pretty ladies was to win an auction. But now in 2014, you can purchase one through anthropologie! Right now, they are not yet available in the United States. But I hear they are coming soon.

headache app

{itunes.apple.com} I have had headaches/migraines all my life. They started when I was seven years old. Today as I was attempting to manage yet another headache, I thought "there has to be an app for this". Yes, there is an app.... Headache Relief Diary. It is free!

I have only been using it for tonight, but it appears to be a very useful tool. It even tracks the weather once you tap in your zip code to see if there are patterns with the weather and the headaches! perfect.

DJ at Scratch turntable

{fredflare.com} Your cat has a choice. It can A) Destroy your couch, or B) mix some hot tracks. Those are literally the two things a cat wants to do most. Give it the chance with this cardboard scratching post. The arm swings around, and the top spins and you get to watch Mr. Cuddlemittens and laugh in that "OMG THE CAT THINKS HE'S PEOPLE" way. Made of highly durable cardboard, it comes flat packed and is easy to assemble. Measures about 15"x14"x5.5"

Pavel Eekra : pinecone lamp

Check out this gorgeous pendant by Russian designer Pavel Eekra. The lamp consists of 56 plates and screws, without an internal skeleton due to rounding forms plaques form gaps through which light passes.
Boards themselves are also slightly transparent, this creates a particular pattern of light from the outside and downward bright light. More information about the lamp can be found on Pavel’s website.

warby parker

You can select up to 5 frames to try on at home. Keep them for 5 days and then send back. They also have virtual try-ons on the website. I ordered mine on Friday night and they were at my house by Monday night.

{warbyparker.com}
A collaboration between four close friends, Warby Parker was conceived as an alternative to the overpriced and bland eyewear available today. Prescription eyewear simply should not cost $300+. The industry is controlled by a few large companies that have kept prices artificially high, reaping huge profits from consumers who have no other options. By circumventing traditional channels and engaging with our customers directly through our website, Warby Parker is able to provide higher-quality, better looking prescription eyewear for under $100.

We meticulously crafted our first collection of 27 limited run styles, plus one monocle, using only the finest custom acetates and materials. The Warby Parker aesthetic is vintage-inspired, with a fashion forward twist - and every pair is custom fit with anti-reflective, polycarbonate prescription lenses.

Available exclusively through the Warby Parker website, our glasses retail for $95.

Eyewear with a Purpose. We believe that everyone has the right to see. Unfortunately, millions of people around the world today don’t have access to proper vision care. To help address this problem, Warby Parker partners with renowned non-profits, such as RestoringVision.org, to deliver one pair of glasses to someone in need for every pair that we sell. In doing so, we enable you to share the gift of vision with someone who can’t see today and give them the opportunity to read, to work and to live a fuller life.

Christian Siriano for Payless

{payless.com} Christian Siriano for Payless Shoes. What do you think? Some of the shoes are good but I wonder if consumers would feel okay spending $34.99-54.99 for shoes at Payless. Did you know, you can use your AAA card to get a 10% discount on shoes. And yes, that is odd.
