{nbc.com/parenthood} This show is one of the very few things that NBC has done right in the last year or so. (in my opinion). This trailer explains the show. However you should note that Maura Tierney (from ER) is now played by Lauren Graham (from Gilmore Girls). Maure Tierney was diagnosed with Cancer (sad).

I love this show, it makes me feel like I can make it through my week (life) with three kids, career, hubby, house payment and so on... It's a journey. Plus, I love the set design of the show. Each house feels so "lived in" and real. I love it.

Boardwalk Empire : Secret QR

Right after the tv-series The Sopranos ended its run in 2007. Premium cable network HBO went to work on the next television saga, Boardwalk Empire. Along with The Sopranos screenwriter Terence Winter and director Martin Scorsese, the historical crime drama take place in the “original” sin city, Atlantic City, during the Prohibition Era of the 1920s. In a massive marketing campaign to coincide with the premiere of the series this week, HBO and BLT & Associates rolled out a special billboard in New York City and Chicago’s bus shelter. In the form of large whiskey bottle, the billboards are embedded with a special QR Code. When the code is read by a cellphone, direction as well as password will appear to gain entry to a secret “speakeasy” event, where the first drink will be on the house. The offers will last till this Thursday, September 23rd 2010.

Lost + Target

{youtube.com} I watched Lost from the very first episode... I even made my husband watch it because I said "it's gonna be good"... six years later he is the Lost addict and I ended up the casual viewer. Any-woo I loved how Target used the final episode as a way to reach consumers with these witty spots. I have to say that normally in our house we DVR everything and fast- forward through commercials. However, I was was intrigued when I saw the smoke monster paired with a Bullseye... rewind. what? Good work Target. Keep it coming.

MAD MEN season 3 on AMC

{amc} I am quickly watching season 2, on netflix before season 3 starts. If you have not seen this show, you really should.
Straight-up from AMC.com. . . .
Set in 1960's New York, the sexy, stylized and provocative AMC drama Mad Men follows the lives of the ruthlessly competitive men and women of Madison Avenue advertising, an ego-driven world where key players make an art of the sell.
The Premise: The series revolves around the conflicted world of Don Draper, the biggest ad man (and ladies man) in the business, and his colleagues at the Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency. As Don makes the plays in the boardroom and the bedroom, he struggles to stay a step ahead of the rapidly changing times and the young executives nipping at his heels. The series also depict authentically the roles of men and women in this era while exploring the true human nature beneath the guise of 1960 traditional family values.

Mad Men Yourself

Okay so EVERYONE has been doing yearbookyourself in the land of Facebook. . . about time that we shake things up a bit with madmenyourself. Can't say the image above is perfectly me, but I would wear that shade of purple and I wish my hair was that perfectly in place. . . Can't wait for season 3 to begin!

design show on bravotv

So Anna is the official winner (I finally got around to watching the finale on my DVR this morning). I was actually hoping Anna would win. They is something elegant and simple about her work. And I like the retro/vintage tones in her collection. Not everyone agrees. . . However, Anna did get 56% of the votes.

My favorite thing of the show was the designers sassy attitudes and Issac calling all the designers "kids". Overall, I found the show to be a little awkward and not as polished as "Project Runway" but entertaining none the less. I love fashion-passion and people getting all worked up about their "vision". It makes me feel like I am not alone, that there are other people in the world that notice all the little things and have this need to create and make great things.

A comment from one of the judges I like loved "good is the greatest enemy of great."

mad men

A drama about one of New York's most prestigious ad agencies at the beginning of the 1960s, focusing on one of the firm's most mysterious but extremely talented ad executives, Donald Draper.

The show has won a few awards (emmy, golden globe and so on). visually stunning, great sound, and if you are in the advertising field it is a delightful trip into the roots of the business. I love it.

Don Drapper and Joan Holloway are more than an eyeful. . . it is a must see. Sign up for netflix so you can watch a whole season in a weekend. You will love it.
